Key guidelines to follow when uploading content to the platform.

Last updated 22 days ago
These are the rules that are shown before your first upload. Your addon has to follow these rules if you want to upload it to this website. If your addon fails to follow any of these rules, it will not be allowed on the website. These rules apply to all uploads on the platform and must be followed to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality.
Titles and Capitalization
Titles must accurately represent the uploaded content. Titles written entirely in uppercase (ALL CAPS) or entirely in lowercase will be rejected.
Proper nouns (names, places, brands, cities, airports, etc.) must always be capitalized.
Minor words (articles, short prepositions, adjectives, and adverbs) may remain lowercase, unless they are the first word in the title.
If a scenery upload includes an ICAO code, the title must begin with the ICAO code.
Avoid using unnecessary symbols in your title, and keep it as short as possible.
Keep titles simple, clear, and precise. Your title should accurately describe what your add-on is β no more, no less. Avoid vague titles like βAirbus A320 Liveryβ, which donβt specify the variant or airline. Likewise, avoid overly long or promotional titles such as βThe Best and Most Epic 8K High Quality Ultra Max Lufthansa Livery For Your Fancy Airbus A320β. Stick to a concise, factual format that clearly identifies the content, avoid the use of unnecessary words, phrases or symbols that are not relevant.
β Description: English and Detailed
Every uploaded file must include a description in English. You may provide a translation of your description in a language of your choice, but all contents must include the English description. Uploads lacking an English description will be deactivated.
A good description should be clear, informative, and easy for users to understand. Be sure to provide all important details that users need before downloading. This includes supported simulator versions, any required dependencies, simple installation instructions, as well as known issues or limitations. Write in structured paragraphs and format your text properly for good readability. Use headings, bullet points, or bold text where appropriate to highlight essential information.
β Copyright Protected Content
When uploading content of other creators to our platform, it is important to remember that you must have original creator's permission. This applies to both freeware and paid content. It is crucial to respect copyright laws and the intellectual property of others. Do not plagiarize the works of fellow creators without their explicit permission.
If we receive a copyright infringement notice, we may disable your content on Flightsim.to. To reinstate access and obtain further information, please contact Flightsim.to Support, quoting the reference number provided.
β No Guides or Tutorials
Flightsim.to is dedicated to share add-ons and mods to expand the game. We do not support guides or tutorials on this platform. The same applies to documents, information lists, or anything similar that does not constitute an in-game usable add-on, with the exception of checklists.
β No Sound Packs / Cabin Announcements
Flightsim.to is not designed to host Sound Packs or Cabin Announcements.
β No empty files, preview files, unfished files, mere Read-Me files or images
Flightsim.to is a place to share finished mods with with the community. A mod is considered finished when other users can use it and it provides decent value or benefit for the user. It is not allowed to upload Read-Me files, files without content, or previews of upcoming mods. Everything you upload must be a working product related to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Early Access mods are allowed, but they must be functional and provide meaningful value. You may upload work-in-progress or Early Access add-ons as long as they are usable and offer real benefit to users. Placeholder or βtestβ uploads that lack essential functionality or purpose are not permitted.
β No external downloads
Flightsim.to is a community-driven platform founded to have all mods and add-ons in one place, without requiring users to download files from (untrusted) third-party websites with the risk of not working links. We need to have full control of the content uploaded on our site, and users don't want to download a file redirecting them to an external site for another download. As a rule, all uploads linking to other websites or sources are forbidden, you must upload your file on Flightsim.to.
β Screenshots are required!
Every upload must include at least two in-game screenshot that clearly show your add-on. Images must be a minimum of 512 Γ 512 px. Files without a relevant screenshot β or with images unrelated to the add-on β will be removed.
β No Malware Detection
Before uploading your file, please make sure that it has 0/0 detections on VirusTotal. We will reject all files that have even one virus detection - no matter if false positive or not. If your upload has been rejected because of such detection, please refer to this article.
β Level of Creation
All add-ons must reach a certain level of creation. You can take inspiration from others, but you must create something of your own. Furthermore, in addition to the aforementioned point, it's important to note that the act of uploading mere "spam" items, which have no utility for anyone, is strictly prohibited. This policy is in place to ensure that the platform remains a valuable and relevant resource.
β Provide GPS coordinates for scenery
If you upload scenery and you would like it to appear on our Scenery Map, please be sure to enter the coordinates in the field provided. Otherwise you run the risk that your scenery will not be included in the scenery map.
β Best Practices for File Naming
Choose filenames that clearly indicate the content and purpose of the addon. Avoid generic or ambiguous names that do not provide any information to users. Instead of "OPEN ME FIRST.zip" consider naming the file something like "Boeing 747-400 Passenger Variant" to allow users to identify what is inside the archives. Maintain a consistent naming format across all your addons to make it easier for users to identify and manage them.
β Do not upload multiple parts
Respect the file size limitation on Flightsim.to which is 3.0 GB per add-on. Uploading multiple parts or splitting files, such as Part 1, Part 2, and so on, is prohibited. Each add-on must function independently without requiring any additional downloads.
β Guidelines for Add-On Titles
When uploading airport scenery, it's necessary to include the ICAO code, if available, at the beginning of the title for your upload. They are not allowed inbetween or at the end, the title of your file must start with the ICAO. Our guidelines for naming titles also require avoiding unnecessary capitalization, symbols, or words, so-called spam capslock or clickbaits. Please include only the essential elements in your title.
βΉοΈ Donationware
All files must be completely free. Offering updates or exclusive features for a fee is not allowed. You may ask for donations, but you may not offer anything in return. While Flightsim.to primarily hosts freeware content, paid content is allowed in the Flightsim.to Store. To sell content, you will need to apply for an official vendor account.
